Pokemon Mini Tin display: tins, packs, and art sets

Learn how many tins and packs a Pokemon Mini Tin display may hold, how art sets differ, and how to compare the full EUR cost before buying.

We compare pack math with shipping, seller count, and the reason you might want the product.

Read how the numbers are built

A Pokemon Mini Tin display does not have one pack count that applies to every release. One documented Kanto Friends display contains 10 tins and 20 booster packs, but newer Pokemon pages often state only the number of tin artworks and the contents of each tin. Check the named release before using 10 tins as a rule.

A full art set can also differ from a sealed display. Lumiose City has 5 designs, so one of each design gives you 5 tins and 10 packs. The 2025 Unova line has 8 designs, while 30th Celebration has 10. The artwork count tells you how many tins complete the set. It does not prove how many tins a distributor packed into one display.

What is a Pokemon Mini Tin display?

A Pokemon Mini Tin display is retail packaging that groups several sealed Mini Tins from one named product line. Each tin remains its own unopened product. The outer tray or box makes the group easier for a shop to stock and for a collector to keep together.

The word "display" describes the larger retail unit. It does not set a universal quantity. Pokemon's Kanto Friends sell sheet gives a clear example: 10 tins per display and 4 displays, or 40 tins, per master case. Each Kanto Friends tin contains 2 booster packs, so that named display contains 20 packs.

Do not carry that 10-tin count into another release without a source. A product page may list 5, 8, or 10 artworks without publishing how a sealed retail display is packed.

Display vs art set vs case

Sellers often use these terms loosely. Ask for the exact quantity and photos instead of relying on the listing title.

TermWhat it should meanWhat to verify
Single Mini TinOne sealed tinArtwork, language, pack contents, and release
Mini Tin art setOne tin for every artwork in the named lineNumber of designs and whether each one is guaranteed
Mini Tin displayA larger retail unit containing several tinsTin count, factory seal, artwork mix, and product code
Mini Tin master caseA shipping carton holding displays or tinsNumber of displays, total tins, carton seal, and labels

An art set can be assembled from loose retail tins. It may be complete without having a factory display box. A sealed display can contain repeated artworks, so it may be factory sealed without giving you one of every design.

Use the sealed product condition guide when the outer tray, wrap, tape, or carton matters to the price. Use live Mini Tin prices when you only need one design.

How many tins are in a Pokemon Mini Tin display?

There is no single count supported across all releases. First decide whether you want a complete artwork run or a factory display.

Named Mini Tin lineOfficial artwork countPacks per tinPacks in one complete art setPublished display count in the cited source
Kanto Friends521010 tins, or 20 packs
Unova8216Not stated on the official product page
Ascended Heroes5210Not stated on the official product page
Lumiose City5210Not stated on the official product page
30th Celebration10220Not stated in the official showcase

The art-set totals use artwork count x 2 packs per tin. They do not claim that each set ships in a display with the same number of tins.

Kanto Friends shows why the distinction matters. Its 5-artwork set needs 5 tins, but its documented display holds 10. A complete art set and one sealed display therefore have different quantities for that release.

For 30th Celebration, Pokemon confirms 10 artworks that form 2 images and 2 packs in each tin. That supports a 10-tin, 20-pack art set calculation. The showcase does not state the sealed display configuration, so check a seller's listing before calling the art set a display.

How to compare Pokemon Mini Tin display prices

Start with the delivered cost, then calculate both cost per tin and cost per booster.

delivered cost = product price + delivery + payment fees

cost per tin = delivered cost / confirmed tin count

cost per booster = delivered cost / confirmed booster count

This worksheet uses teaching prices, not current market quotes.

OfferConfirmed tinsConfirmed packsProduct and deliveryCost per tinCost per booster
Sealed display1020132.00 EUR13.20 EUR6.60 EUR
Guaranteed 10-tin art set1020129.00 EUR12.90 EUR6.45 EUR
Five-tin art set51068.00 EUR13.60 EUR6.80 EUR

The 10-tin art set costs 3 EUR less than the display in this example. I would pay the display premium only if I wanted the factory packaging in good condition. For an opening, the art set has the lower pack cost.

Compare current Mini Tin display offers with Mini Tin art sets. If the exact set does not matter, use the best EUR price per booster to check whether the tin premium is reasonable.

Your Europe says EU traders must show the total price, including taxes and extra charges, before payment. A display from another country can have the lower item price and still lose after delivery. Use the amount at checkout, not the number in a search result.

Check the artwork mix before buying

A listing that says "styles may vary" does not promise a complete art set. A quantity of 5 also does not prove that you will receive 5 different tins.

Before paying, ask the seller to confirm:

  1. The full product name and release.
  2. The number of tins in the order.
  3. The number and names of distinct artworks.
  4. Whether the outer display is factory sealed.
  5. The language and pack contents.
  6. The product code or barcode on the display.
  7. The condition of the tray, wrap, and tins.

Save the reply and listing photos. If you receive duplicate designs after the seller promised a full set, that record shows the difference between the listing and the order.

For a single release with several inserts, do not add a coin or sticker premium to every tin without checking the exact item. The Prismatic Evolutions Mini Tin coin guide shows why an advertised colour count does not establish rarity or packing odds.

Do Mini Tin displays have better pull rates?

A Mini Tin display does not give each booster pack better pull rates. Pokemon Support says a booster pack cannot guarantee a specific Pokemon or card type. A display gives you more packs, so it gives you more attempts, but the probability for each named pack does not improve because it came from a tin or display.

Use the same per-pack rate for matching packs from the same expansion and language unless a source publishes a product-specific packing rule. The product pull-rate guide explains the difference between more attempts and better odds.

Pack identity still matters. A Unova Mini Tin contains one Black Bolt pack and one White Flare pack. You cannot treat 16 packs from an 8-tin art set as 16 attempts at one expansion. Split the pack count by set before using pull-rate or value figures.

When a Mini Tin display makes sense

A display can make sense when you want the outer retail packaging, several sealed tins from one line, or enough packs for a group opening. Buy a guaranteed art set when the artwork run matters more than the display box.

Skip the display when the seller will not confirm the count, the artwork mix, or the seal. It is also a weak pack buy when several bundles or boxes from the same expansion cost less per booster and you do not value the tins.

The broader Pokemon tin value guide covers single tins, larger tins, promos, and mixed pack contents. Use this page when a seller groups several Mini Tins into one display, art set, or case.

Sources and update policy

The Pokemon Kanto Friends Mini Tin sell sheet gives the named 10-tin display, 4-display master case, 5-artwork set, and 2-pack tin configuration.

Pokemon's official pages provide the newer examples. The Lumiose City Mini Tin page confirms 5 artworks and 2 packs per tin. The Ascended Heroes product page confirms the same counts for that line. The Unova Mini Tin page confirms 8 artworks and 2 named packs per tin. The 30th Celebration product page confirms 10 artworks and 2 packs per tin.

Pokemon Support explains what a booster pack can and cannot guarantee. The European Union's Your Europe service explains total-price rules for EU shoppers.

PokeCompare does not inspect each seller's sealed display or guarantee its artwork mix. Live widgets and product pages show their own update times. We will review this guide when Pokemon publishes a new Mini Tin line, changes a cited product page, or provides a different official display configuration. Sources last checked September 1, 2026.

FAQ

How many tins are in a Pokemon Mini Tin display?

The count depends on the release. Pokemon's Kanto Friends sell sheet lists 10 tins per display. Other official product pages may list only the number of artwork designs, not the sealed display quantity. Check the named release, product code, and seller photos before assuming a 10-tin count.

How many booster packs are in a Mini Tin display?

Multiply the confirmed number of tins by the packs in each tin. A 10-tin display with 2 packs per tin contains 20 packs. That calculation works only after you verify both inputs. Do not use 20 packs as a universal Mini Tin display count.

Is a Mini Tin display a complete art set?

Not always. A complete art set has one tin for each design. A sealed display follows the maker's retail packing configuration and may contain repeated designs. Ask whether every artwork is guaranteed. A factory seal proves the larger unit is unopened, not that it completes an art set.

How many Mini Tins complete an art set?

The official count varies by line. Lumiose City and Ascended Heroes have 5 designs, Unova has 8, and 30th Celebration has 10. Buy one confirmed tin for each artwork. A seller offering the same quantity can still send duplicates unless the listing promises a complete set.

Do Mini Tin displays have guaranteed hits?

No. Pokemon does not guarantee a specific Pokemon or card type in each booster pack. Buying a display gives you more packs and more attempts, but it does not improve the odds of each pack. Ignore seller claims of guaranteed display hits unless Pokemon publishes that rule for the exact product.

Should I buy a Mini Tin display or single tins?

Buy a display when you value its sealed retail packaging or want many tins from one line. Buy confirmed single designs when you need an exact art set or a smaller order. Compare the delivered EUR cost per tin and per booster, then price any display premium separately.

A Pokemon Mini Tin display is a release-specific retail unit, not a universal 10-tin format. Verify the count, artwork mix, seal, language, and delivered EUR cost. If the art matters most, buy a guaranteed art set. If the packs matter most, compare the full price per booster first.
