Check the size before you buy a protector, plan a shelf, pack an order, or compare delivery costs. A rigid case can be too tight by a few millimetres. A weight copied from another ETB can also give you the wrong parcel estimate.

What is the size of a Pokemon ETB?

Asmodee UK lists the English Shrouded Fable ETB at 18.8 cm wide, 16.6 cm high, and 9.0 cm deep. Its listed weight is 0.70 kg. These figures apply to that product. They are not an official size standard for every Elite Trainer Box.

A second European listing gives almost the same result. Currys Ireland lists the same product at 18.7 cm wide, 17.1 cm high, 8.7 cm deep, and 0.70 kg. The two sources agree on the weight and stay within 0.5 cm on each outer dimension.

The small gap shows why shop figures are not precise enough for a rigid protector. A shop may round its figures, turn the box before naming width and depth, or use a shipping measurement. Either listing works for a rough shelf plan. Measure the box itself when the fit will be tight.

Why Pokemon ETB dimensions differ

Published Pokemon ETB dimensions can differ even when two shops describe the same product. The difference may come from rounding, measurement direction, the point where the outer sleeve is widest, or a data-entry error.

The product itself can also differ by release. Pokemon's official pages show that ETB contents have changed over time. A Sword and Shield ETB had 8 packs and 4 dividers, while the current Perfect Order ETB has 9 packs and 6 dividers. That does not prove the outer box changed, but it does show why one old specification should not become a rule for every ETB.

Use a product name and barcode when you compare two listings. "Elite Trainer Box" alone is too broad for a fit check.

Are Pokemon Center ETBs the same size?

Do not assume that a Pokemon Center ETB has the same outer dimensions as its regular match. The official Chaos Rising showcase confirms that the Center version has 11 packs instead of 9 and adds a Pokemon Center-stamped promo. It does not give outer measurements for either box.

Those content differences tell us nothing certain about the outer size. If you need a protector or shipping carton, search for the expansion and version, then check the seller's internal dimensions or measure your own box.

How much does a Pokemon ETB weigh?

The Shrouded Fable ETB weighs 0.70 kg in both European product listings cited here. That figure includes the packaged retail product. It should not be used as the weight of an empty ETB or as a universal weight for every sealed release.

Contents affect weight. Pack count, Energy cards, dice, coins, dividers, and printed guides can change by release. A shipping label may also use a higher parcel weight after the seller adds a carton and padding.

Weight cannot prove that a sealed ETB is genuine or untouched. Two boxes can vary because of the scale, packing material, or product contents. If the seal or condition worries you, use the sealed Pokemon product condition guide and ask for clear photos.

How to measure an Elite Trainer Box

Measure the sealed retail product with the inner storage box, wrap, and printed sleeve in place. That is the form that will enter a protector or parcel.

1. Put the ETB on a flat surface without pressing the wrap.
2. Measure the longest horizontal side in centimetres and record it as width.
3. Measure from the base to the highest point and record the height.
4. Measure the front-to-back depth at its widest point.
5. Weigh the complete product in kilograms if delivery or shelving depends on weight.
6. Write down the expansion, language, version, and barcode beside the figures.

Measure twice. A rigid case that matches the nominal box size may be too tight once you account for wrap seams and small production differences. One specialist protector listing for Shrouded Fable uses verified box dimensions of 18.7 x 16.5 x 8.8 cm and adds 2 to 3 mm of clearance for insertion. That clearance is one maker's method, not a rule for every case.

Plan a protector, shelf, or parcel

For shelf planning, divide the usable width by the side of the ETB that will face along the shelf. Round down to a whole number of boxes.

ETBs per row = floor(usable shelf width / box face width)

Using the Asmodee Shrouded Fable figures, an 80 cm shelf could hold 4 front-facing ETBs because floor(80 / 18.8) = 4. That leaves 4.8 cm before any gap between boxes. Turned side-on, the same shelf could hold 8 because floor(80 / 9.0) = 8, leaving 8 cm.

The Shrouded Fable box in the Asmodee listing has a volume of about 2.81 litres:

18.8 x 16.6 x 9.0 = 2,808.72 cubic centimetres

2,808.72 cubic centimetres / 1,000 = 2.81 litres

Volume does not tell you the right protector size by itself. Internal width, height, and depth each need enough clearance. A case with the right total volume can still be too narrow on one side.

For parcel planning, add space for padding to every dimension. This teaching example adds 2 cm on each side, so each box dimension grows by 4 cm:

22.8 x 20.6 x 13.0 = 6,105.84 cubic centimetres, or about 6.11 litres

That is a packing example, not a carrier rule. Use the courier's current size, weight, and pricing method before you buy a label.

Check size, weight, and the EUR price

A larger parcel may cost more to deliver, and a protector can add a second item to the order. Compare the final EUR total for the same ETB, language, and condition.

Suppose Shop A lists an ETB at 56.00 EUR with 6.50 EUR delivery. Shop B lists it at 59.00 EUR with 2.50 EUR delivery.
